You may be exempt from the Child Care Subsidy activity test if you are the principal carer of your grandchild, unable to work due to a disability or medical condition, or a Carer Payment recipient.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children may be entitled to a minimum of 36 hours of subsidised care, regardless of activity levels. Low income families may be entitled to a minimum of 24 hours of subsidised care per fortnight, regardless of activity levels.

Approved children's education and care services across Australia are assessed and rated by their state and territory regulatory authority. The NQS is part of the National Regulations and includes seven quality areas that are important to children's learning and developmental outcomes.

These are actions taken by the State or Territory regulatory authorities when a service is found to be not complying with National Health and Safety regulations. These actions range in severity and are designed to improve and ensure children’s safety and wellbeing.

What is an enforcement action?

The regulatory authority may amend the provider or service’s approval to operate.

Compliance notices or directions include formal instructions for a service to rectify compliance issues.

Conditions placed on a service or provider approval require the service or provider to undertake specific actions to be compliant.

 – Emergency action notices require immediate steps to be taken by the provider to address serious risks at a service.

 – Enforceable undertakings are legally binding agreements that can be made between a regulatory authority and an approved provider or an individual. They set out what that approved provider or individual agrees to do or refrain from doing to comply with the National Law.

 – In extreme cases, the provider or service may temporarily lose their approval to operate.

This service is approved to provide education and care to children from over preschool age including school children.

In addition to the prescribed information required to be displayed under section 172 of the Education and Care Services National Law and regulation 173 of the Education and Care Services National Regulations, the approved provider must display a map which clearly identifies the indoor and outdoor spaces on the school site approved by the school for use by the education and care service. This map is to be positioned so that it is clearly visible to anyone from the main entrance to the education and care service premises.
