Australian Government announces child care relief for families and services in Victoria

The Australian Government has announced child care relief for the Victorian families, services and child care workers who will be impacted by the Stage four lockdown.

As mentioned in the media statement, the Victorian Government’s restrictions mean children, except for vulnerable children and those of permitted workers, in metropolitan Melbourne will no longer be able to attend child care for six weeks. To ease the burden, the Australian Government has announced that it will invest $33 million so child care services remain open for vulnerable families and permitted workers, while helping Victorian parents keep their child’s enrolment while they must keep their child at home.”

For more information see the Minister’s media release.
