3 TO 5 YEARS
At 3 to 5 years your child is now a pre-schooler, who is fascinated by the world around them. They can speak in longer sentences and will start asking lots of ‘who’, ‘what’, ‘where’ and ‘why’ questions.

LANGUAGE

- Will assert self with words

COGNITIVE
- Has a longer attention span
- Follows simple instructions
- Recalls events correctly
EMOTIONAL
- May show bouts of aggression with peers
- Understands when someone is hurt
- Likes to give and receive affection from parents
PHYSICAL
- Develops ability to toilet train at night
- Runs, walks, hops and jumps with ease
- Exhibits hand preference, e.g. left or right
SOCIAL
- Enjoys playing with other children
- Shares, smiles and cooperates with peers
- Developing independence and expanding social skills
